Acrylic Mixed Media on Canvas By Cotswold Artist Liv Mitchell

Olivia Mitchell is a contemporary artist working from her studio on the edge of the Cotswolds. Since graduating with her Master’s in Fine Art, she has continued to develop her practice, creating darker, more intimate, and tactile compositions.

As part of this ongoing collaboration with Anton and K Decorative Antiques,Liv  is continuing to construct dynamic paintings through her fluid and gestural approach to mark-making, which results in fragmented textural compositions.

Her work currently investigates the rhythms of organic textures found in the natural world through her sophisticated application of paint in expressive layers and the use of muted tones. The physical acts of making challenge her immersive, atmospheric abstractions. She builds on successful accidents that occur during her extensive making process and predominantly uses acrylic paint because of its unpredictable nature. Recently, she has explored the use of monochromatic palettes with richer, more earthy tones.
